Photo & Media PolicyLos Angeles Modern Quilt Guild (LAMQG) PurposeThe Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild ("LAMQG," "we," "our," or "us") values the creativity, community, and accomplishments of our members and participants. This Photo & Media Policy explains how photographs, videos, recordings, and other media may be created, used, and shared in connection with LAMQG activities. This policy applies to members, guests, instructors, volunteers, vendors, and all individuals attending or participating in LAMQG-sponsored activities. Photography and Media at Guild ActivitiesPhotographs, videos, livestreams, audio recordings, and other media may be captured during LAMQG meetings, workshops, retreats, sew-ins, exhibitions, community outreach activities, and other guild-sponsored events. Because photography and media documentation are common parts of guild activities, individuals attending LAMQG events should be aware that they may appear in photographs, videos, recordings, livestreams, or other media created during the event. How Media May Be UsedLAMQG may use photographs, videos, recordings, and other media for guild-related purposes, including but not limited to:
Member-Submitted ContentMembers and participants may submit photographs, quilt images, show-and-tell photographs, challenge entries, social media content, and other media for publication or sharing by LAMQG. By voluntarily submitting media to LAMQG, the submitter grants LAMQG permission to:
Ownership of Submitted MediaIndividuals who submit photographs or other original media retain ownership and copyright of their work. By submitting media to LAMQG, the creator grants LAMQG a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, archive, and publish the media for guild-related purposes. This license does not transfer ownership of the media to LAMQG. Social Media TaggingLAMQG may tag members, participants, businesses, vendors, instructors, or other individuals appearing in photographs or media when such information is publicly available or has been voluntarily provided. Individuals may request that a tag or social media post be removed by contacting the guild. LAMQG will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests. MinorsAlthough LAMQG membership is limited to adults, minors may occasionally attend public events, exhibitions, outreach activities, or other guild-sponsored functions. LAMQG will obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before knowingly publishing identifiable images of a minor in guild-controlled publications, websites, social media accounts, or promotional materials. Requests for RemovalIndividuals who appear in photographs, videos, recordings, or other media may request that such materials no longer be used in future guild publications or communications by contacting LAMQG. LAMQG will make reasonable efforts to honor removal requests whenever feasible. However, removal may not be possible for materials that have already been:
Respect for ParticipantsLAMQG strives to use photographs and media in a respectful and positive manner that reflects the welcoming and inclusive nature of the quilting community. If an individual has concerns regarding the use of a photograph, recording, tag, caption, or other media, they are encouraged to contact the guild so the matter can be reviewed and addressed. Changes to This PolicyLAMQG may update this Photo & Media Policy from time to time. Any revisions will be posted on the website with an updated effective date.
