Quilt for Others Sew-In (Sat, August 15, 2026)

Come sew with guild friends for the charities LAMQG supports!

You may work on a project of your own that you plan to donate (quilts, pillowcases or your Quilt for Democracy block), or begin a project on site. There will be demos of how to make pillowcases and easy blocks (hourglass, rail fence, jelly roll) that can quickly create beautiful quilts for someone else.

Please join us!

Registration is required so that we know how many to expect. There is no fee for this event.

My Journey into Fabric Design

Robin will share her journey into fabric, quilt patterns, and cross-stitch design. She will give an overview of her background, her collections for Moda Fabrics, and her variety of consumer patterns.

Following Robin's talk, we'll cover general guild business and Show & Tell.

Robin Pickens Workshop: Put A Bird On It (Sat, September 19, 2026)

Put a Bird on It!

In this workshop, participants will create a "jaunty jay bird" 24" square project, perfect for a pillow or wall quilt.

You can take a literal approach with a blue jay or cardinal, or create a colorful bird using scraps. The pattern also includes a smaller 12" block option for totes or small pillows. The project focuses on basic patchwork piecing, stitch-and-flip corners, and half-square triangles.

Robin will share ideas for experimentation and demonstrate cutting techniques to minimize preparation time. While this project can be completed in a full day, our half-day session will allow us to start our birds and view various examples.

Registration opens August 1.

Whether you're finishing projects, starting something new, or simply enjoying uninterrupted sewing time with friends, the retreat offers a relaxing and inspiring environment filled with laughter, learning, and plenty of quilting fun.

We have games, challenges, prize winning opportunities, meals together, and quilt shopping, as well as lots of unstructured time to quilt.

Vina de Lestonnac Retreat Center is a peaceful retreat nestled among the vineyards and rolling hills of Temecula Wine Country. Offering on site accommodations, dedicated sewing space, and beautiful grounds, it provides the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend of quilting, creativity, and fellowship.

Retreat Pricing:

Single Occupancy: $925
Double Occupancy: $725
2 Equity Spots for first timers (double occupancy only): $525
*Pricing includes accommodations, meals, taxes, gratuities, and retreat swag

Registration:

Registration for this year's Fall Retreat will open at 9:00am on Tuesday, June 9 and remain open until 9:00pm on Tuesday, June 16.

To ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to attend, registration will remain open for one week. If the number of registrations exceeds the number of available spots, attendees will be selected through a lottery following the close of registration. Once your spot is confirmed, a $250 deposit (applied toward your retreat balance) will be due.

After all registrants have been confirmed, a waitlist will be formed to fill cancellations.
